Zion Crossroads, Virginia

Timothy Alan Jones, 66, of Zion Crossroads, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on September 5, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family and beloved dogs.

Born July 24, 1960, in Baltimore, Maryland, Tim was the son of Francis Orene Leftwich and Rayburn Casper Jones. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and later earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He went on to build a diverse career in restaurant management, sales, business ownership, and hospital supply management.

In 2005, he married the love of his life and best friend, Mary Pleasant Jones. Retirement never slowed him down. He stayed busy with online sales, cooking for his dogs, fishing, charitable work, serving as an ordained minister, and making memories with family and friends.

Tim loved God, his family, his dogs, the outdoors, fishing, and gathering around a big fire with those he loved. Known for his generosity, larger-than-life personality, and unforgettable stories, he lived life on his own terms. He was a man who seemed to have lived a thousand lives, collecting remarkable stories and unbelievable lore along the way. Above all, he was devoted to his large blended family and took great pride in caring for them. As he would often say, “I never shirked.”

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jones; his mother-in-law, Darlene Viola; his brothers, Dennis Jones and his sons, Logan and Hunter, and Leroy Jones; his eight children, John Paul Jones (Amanda) and their sons, Ryan and Andy; Timothy Alan Jones Jr. (CJ) and their son, Conrad; David Casey Jones (Ariane) and their daughter, Penny; Cory Justin King (Laura) and their children, Kenlee, Benjamen, and Sid; Katrina Michele King; Amanda Orene Jones; Lillian Claire Anderson; and William John Anderson; as well as his dear friends, Thomas and Karen Garrison, and their children, Amanda and Shawn Garrison.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Larry, Lonnie, Ronnie, Roger, Bonnie, Donald, Geoffrey, and Douglas Jones.

Tim's presence was impossible to miss, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In accordance with his wishes, no funeral service will be held. Family and friends will gather later to celebrate his life.
