If you knew my dad, he is a man of not so many words, but his heart spoke the loudest. He was tall and always complimented on his beautiful thick hair, once dark and it became white over time.

Most would not have known that my dad was funny. He had a sense of humor all his own, and you just had to understand it. He always had a one-liner. If you asked him how he felt, he’d reply, “with my hands,” along with many more, some of which I still use today.

My dad enjoyed watching his westerns, Clint Eastwood was his favorite actor. He enjoyed putting puzzles together, playing Rummy and could beat you every time at Checkers.

He had a lifted Toyota pickup truck, that he loved and took pride in. It was very unique and always stood out from any other Toyota I’ve ever seen.

He loved being outdoors, and that’s where you would find him most of the time.

Dad was an effortless painter, everything he did looked easy.

My daddy was a hard worker. No matter what he was doing, he was going to make sure the job was done correctly and sometimes he wouldn’t even take a break.

He was a fighter and so determined, never giving up no matter what he was facing.

It was his role as Papa that made him the most proud.

My mom and dad were married for 41 years, building a life together filled with love, and I am blessed to be their only child.

Because of him, I know what hard work, love, and strength truly look like, and those are lessons I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I love you, Daddy. ❤
