Sharon Yvonne Gunter, 76, of Mineral, VA, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond. She was born in Richmond, VA, on March 5, 1949, to the late Herman and Loraine Austin.

Sharon was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother whose greatest joy in life was her family. She could often be found at the ball fields, cheering proudly from the stands as her children and grandchildren played baseball and softball. Whether it was a weekday practice or a weekend tournament, Sharon rarely missed a game. She treasured those moments, the crack of the bat, the cheers from the crowd, and the smiles on her loved ones’ faces.

Beyond the ball field, Sharon had a deep love for horses. She admired their beauty and strength and found peace and happiness whenever she was around them. She also had a lively spirit and enjoyed shopping, searching for the perfect gift for someone she loved or treating herself to something special. For Sharon, shopping wasn’t just about buying things; it was about the joy of finding something that made someone smile.

Sharon will be remembered for her unwavering support, her warm heart, and the love she poured into her family. Her presence at the ball fields and in the lives of those she cherished will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will live on forever.

She is survived by her loving children, Shane Clarke, Troy Clarke, and Kearston Gunter; her adoring grandchildren, Bryce Clarke, Tori Arroyo, Rachel Clarke, Jesse Clarke, and Taylor Moore; and her three cherished great grandchildren.

A service to honor Sharon’s life will be announced at a later date.
