Roy Ross Smith, Jr., 83, of Albemarle, VA, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital. He was born on January 17, 1939, in Albemarle County to the late Roy Smith, Sr. and Annie Faris Bragg. Mr. Smith is survived by his children, Timothy Ross Smith and Cynthia Dillon; his grandchildren, April Smith, Richard Smith, Angela Smith, Tracey Smith, Tiffany Smith, and Kara Dillon; and his siblings, Francis Thompson and Mirtie Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Roxie Smith; two sons, Ricky Dale Smith (Smitty), and Bobby Lynn Smith; his infant twin daughters; his stepfather, Wallace Bragg; and his siblings, Elizabeth Morris, Edward Bragg, and Albert Early. Roy was a self-employed carpenter and also worked for Michie Construction as a heavy machine operator. Services for Mr. Smith will be announced at a later date. Compassionate Cremation Services of Ruckersville, VA is handling the arrangements.
