Rowland Jay St.Clair, lifelong resident of Manassas, Virginia, aged 56, passed away on September 11, 2024, in Woodford, Virginia. Born October 23, 1967 in Manassas, Virginia, Rowland spent his formative years attending Stonewall Jackson Senior High School, where he began developing his lifelong passions. Professionally, Rowland dedicated many years to the construction industry, where his creativity and handiwork were well-regarded by his colleagues and clients alike. Outside of work, he was known for his love of Chinese food, watching movies, drawing, and building various projects around his home, each a testament to his creative spirit. Those who knew Rowland will remember him as a funny, helpful, and creative individual, always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh. His presence enriched the lives of many, making his passing a significant loss to all who loved him. Rowland is survived by a loving family, including his daughter, Christina Marie VanVolkenburg; son-in-law, Jayson VanVolkenburg; grandchildren, Ever Marie and Elek Jay VanVolkenburg; sisters, Marianne Crouch, Sandra Kerns, Carol Coffey, and Angela Cook; brothers-in-law, Edward Crouch, James Hess, and Richard Cook; nieces, Julie Bateman, Jennifer Kerns, Linda Garrett, Jessica Cook, and Kimilee St.Clair; and nephews, Allen Coffey, Michael St.Clair and Emery St.Clair III. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo Mae and Emery Lincoln St.Clair, Sr; his brother Emery Lincoln St.Clair, Jr; and brother-in-law, David Franklin Kerns. A celebration of Rowland's life will be held at a later date. Compassionate Cremation Services in Ruckersville, Virginia, is assisting the family during this time. Rowland's memory will be cherished in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him.
