Obituary

Roger Andrew Williamson Roger Andrew Williamson, 80, of Stanardsville, VA, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021, at Commonwealth Senior Living Center. He was born on December 16, 1940, in New York to the late Neil Seymour and Mary Lou Williamson. He is survived by his beloved children, Jessica Louise Williamson, whom he taught the love of music, the Beatles and to be a hippie at heart, and Scott Alexander Williamson, with whom he shared the interest in science fiction and the love for writing and literature; the mother of his children, Kristin Williamson; and his nieces and nephews, Debi Kadilak, Leisa Melancon, Neil Williamson, Dirk Williamson and Wendy Williamson with their families and their mother Marilyn Williamson; his cousin, Marjorie Cussen; and his friend and "little brother", Tom Crawford. A heartfelt special thank you to Neil Williamson, who was with Roger almost every day during his illness. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Neil Seymour Williamson. Roger loved the ocean and was an avid surfer during his younger years in Santa Barbara, California. He was a big fan of the UC Trojans, San Francisco 49'ers, Giants and Boston Celtics. He had a love for cats; his special cat "Boots" was unforgotten. Roger took a special interest in history, had a vast knowledge of Norse and Greek mythology, and shared those fascinating tales with his family. We will miss his humor, his sense of tradition and love of Christmas, and his pancakes in the morning. A Celebration of Life for Roger will be held at a later date. Compassionate Cremation Services of Ruckersville, VA is handling the arrangements.
