Roger Lee Porter

Roger Lee Porter, 81, of Barboursville, Virginia, passed away on September 28, 2026, at Greene Acres in Stanardsville, Virginia. He was born on December 9, 1944, to the late James and Dorothy Porter.

Roger was a high school graduate and spent much of his working life as a woodworker for Charlottesville Woodworks. Through his work, he found purpose in creating and working with his hands.

Roger is survived by his sisters, Juanita, Martin of Barboursville, Virginia, and Tissue Royal, of Richmond, Virginia; his nieces, Sheila Phillips of Richmond, Virginia, and Lawanda Martin of Ruckersville, Virginia; his nephews, Jimmy Martin of Stanardsville, Virginia, and Thurman Alford of Richmond, Virginia; as well as several great nieces and nephews

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother James Carson Porter.

Services for Roger may be announced at a later date.
