Rachel Deal Cowgill was born May 28, 1941, to the late Harry Deal and Louise Jenkins Deal and passed away on August 13, 2026, at Autumn Care in Madison County, Virginia.

Rachel grew up in Rappahannock County, Virginia, where she lived through her early twenties. She later moved with her family to Greene County, Virginia, which she called home for most of her life.

Throughout her career, Rachel held a variety of positions. She worked at Alderman Library at the University of Virginia, served as a manager at the 7-Eleven in Culpeper, and later worked as an Executive Secretary to Colonel Horner at Communications Corporation of America (CCA) in Culpeper, Virginia.

She is survived by her two daughters, Ronda Davis and Sherry Davis Stewart; her two grandsons, Brendon Stewart and Nigel Stewart; and her two great granddaughters, Jaidyn Stewart and Alayna Stewart.

A service to celebrate and remember Rachael’s life will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 101 Stephens Loop, Ruckersville, VA, 22968. The day and time will be announced in the coming days.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
