Patricia Kathleen Wehrle (nee Jones), a long-time resident of Georgia as well as Illinois and California, passed away on June 19, 2023, at the age of eighty-five. She was born on August 10, 1937, in Richmond, Virginia and was the second daughter of Jimmy Jones and Kathleen Jones. Trisha went to high school in Bloomington, Illinois and attended the University of Illinois, where she met her ex-husband, Robert Wehrle. After getting married in 1958, they lived and traveled around the world, starting in Venezuela, to Texas, California, and New Jersey, then Egypt, Greece, and the UK, before settling for a while in Wheaton, Illinois, outside of Chicago. After divorcing, she moved to Los Angeles, joining her mother Kathleen and sister Diane. Later she moved to Columbus, Georgia before retiring there near her sister. Trisha was immensely creative, following in her father's footsteps by writing several books and was a devoted painter like her mother, and took pride in craft-making and decorating her homes. She was a life-long learner and loved teaching. She received her BA from Northern Illinois University and her Master's in Education from Aurora University. Her work included teaching elementary school-age children, specializing in Special Education, both in California and Georgia. She leaves behind her children, Kurt, Neil and Hilary; grandchildren, Claire, Alex, Sofia, Hannah and Ingrid; her former husband Robert Wehrle; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Diane Armstrong. A private service for Trisha will be held at a later date.
