Otis Lamont Mitchem, Jr., 60, of Waynesboro, VA, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at his residence. He was born on September 8, 1963, in Beckley, WV, to the late Otis Mitchem, Sr. and Alice Lee Thompson. Otis worked as a painter for many years, and later became a truck driver. He drove for many companies over the last 25 years including YRC Teamsters Local 326, and then with his current company, Shenandoah Trucking. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Mitchem; his children, Sara Mitchem, Jonathan Mitchem, Charlie Ficbach, and Savanna Patton; his siblings, William Tilley, Rodney Mitchem, and Jeffrey Mitchem; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Mitchem. Services may be announced at a later date.
