Mary Jean Komm, 79, of Mineral, VA, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Hospice of the Piedmont-Residential House. She was born on January 4, 1945, in Lorraine, NY to the late Elmo and Dorothy Loomis. Mary grew up in Mannsville, NY with five siblings, and was a 1995 graduate of Mannsville Manor Central School. After graduation, Mary moved to Adams, NY where she had four boys and two girls. She worked as a cashier for Wal-Mart in Watertown, NY for 19 years. She had previously worked at Wescott's State Park and Great Lakes Cheese in her younger years. Mary moved to Pine Mountain, Georgia later in life before deciding to spend the last four years in Virginia, to be closer to her grandchildren. In her free time, she loved to sew and cook. She is survived by children, Morgan Koster, John Phillips, Joe Dealing, Mark Dealing, and Peter Dealing; sisters, Mable Hudson, and Nancy Hughes; brothers, Elmo "Pat" Loomis, and Daniel Loomis; as well as her grandchildren, and many other family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Komm; daughter, Sarah Phillips; and brother, Michael "Mikey" Loomis. Services for Ms. Komm may be announced at a later date.
