It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Marci Lynn Markwell-Rasbury, who left us on Friday, March 1, 2024, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA. Marci, aged 59, was born on January 17, 1965, in Louisville, KY, to the late Carl Robert Markwell and Gladys (Cranmer) Markwell. Marci's passion for professional theatre was evident from a young age, as she graduated from YPAS (Youth Performing Arts High School) in Louisville, KY, and immediately embarked on a successful career. From her directorial and costume design roles at Blue Jacket Outdoor Drama to her career as a Broadway wardrobe supervisor, not to mention her incredible talent as a visual artist and painter, Marci's talents and dedication to the arts shone brightly. Marci is survived by her son Max, who was her greatest joy in life. In addition to Max, Marci is survived by her sisters, Rita and Clara; as well as several nieces, nephews, and numerous other family members & friends. She will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her and witnessing her extraordinary talent and kindness. A private ceremony will be held in Xenia, Ohio this summer to honor Marci's life.
