Linda Marie Watkins, 74, of Boydton, VA, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at her residence. She was born on April 23, 1951, in Arlington, VA to the late William and Clara Watkins. Linda's life has been a vibrant tapestry of creativity, curiosity, and hands-on skill. While her heart leaned toward artistic expression, Linda's innate mechanical abilities led her down a unique and rewarding path. Over the years, she built a respected career working with several major equipment dealers across Northern Virginia, servicing and supporting the agricultural and construction industries. Her work often involved the machinery of well-known brands such as Caterpillar, Massey Ferguson, and John Deere, where she earned a reputation for precision and dependability. In later years, Linda found her calling in the natural beauty and tradition of Cedar Grove Plantation in Clarksville, Virginia, a historic, private quail shooting preserve. There, she became an essential part of the team, lovingly tending to the grounds, maintaining farm equipment, caring for the plantation's horses and mules, assisting in the whelping of champion bird dogs, and playing a key role in guiding memorable guest hunts. Linda's life outside of work was just as rich. A true Renaissance woman, she was a master of many hobbies and adventurer at heart. Her passions ranged from caving, scuba diving, windsurfing, camping, gardening, boating, and dirt biking to photography, home renovation, antiquing, wine making, arrowhead hunting, fishing, and kayaking. She once earned the opportunity to windsurf professionally with Hobie, received a state citation in Delaware for landing a striped bass, and earned ribbons in equestrian competition. Today, Linda is celebrated for her artistry, with a growing following that appreciates the unique beauty of her work. Among her most treasured pieces are her eclectic gourd creations, each one grown from seed and thoughtfully transformed into tangible expressions of her spirit and imagination. Linda's journey reflects a life lived fully rooted in both the earth and the arts, while driven by endless curiosity and creative joy. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Moore; her daughter, Laura Jean Sizemore; her sister, Jean Watkins; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Watkins, and Laura Watkins. Plans to honor Linda's life will be announced at a later date.
