Lillian Frances Wawrzyniec

Lillian Frances Wawrzyniec, 73, of Elkton, VA, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Sentara RMH, in Harrisonburg, VA. She was born on March 8, 1953, in Rockingham, VA, to the late Owen Ashby Hammer and Evelyn Gertrude Hammer.

Lillian was a devoted and loving mother whose life was centered around her two boys, who meant everything to her. She poured her heart into raising them, giving all of her time, love, and care to ensure they were supported and cherished every day. Her commitment to her children was unwavering, and her love for them was the guiding force of her life.

She found great comfort in her faith and was a dedicated member of Shenandoah Assembly of God, where she enjoyed worship and fellowship. Lillian also deeply loved her family and treasured the time she spent with them. In quiet moments, she found happiness in listening to music, which brought her true joy and peace.

Lillian will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her strong faith, and the deep, unconditional love she gave so freely to her children and those closest to her.

She is survived by her two sons, James Edward Arthurs and Timmy Jay Arthurs; her siblings, James Owne Hammer, Mary Ann Beasley, Charles Ray Hammer, Linda Marie Hammer, Leroy Hammer, and Joe Allen Hammer; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended cousins, family, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Hammer.

A celebration to honor Lillian’s life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Shenandoah Assembly of God Church, 311 Comertown Rd, Shenandoah, VA 22849, with Pastor Carter Dean officiating.
