Lebert “Connie” Hensley passed away on July 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

Connie was an avid fisherman who found great joy and peace along the riverbanks. He also enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors. Known for his wonderful sense of humor, Connie was a jokester who loved drawing funny pictures and making those around him laugh. Above all, he loved his family and friends and cherished every moment spent with them.

He is survived by his children, Jessica Hensley; Lynia Lopez and her husband, Lalo Lopez; and Becky Jo Wiseman and her husband, Ricky Wiseman. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Rebecca Wiseman, Brandon Wayne, Damona Dean, Christopher Mejia, Reina Mejia, Jose Mejia, Alita Perez, Skyler Dean, Diego Sprouse, Rosella Lopez, Liliana Lopez, Alondra Lopez, and Max Lopez; his great-grandchildren, Colton and Gabriella Wiseman; his brother, Monnie Hensley and his wife Sandra; and his honorary son, Mikey Gentry, and Mikey’s companion, Theresa Shifflett.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Hensley; his mother, Elsie Belle Hensley; his brothers, Ardie Hensley and Forrest Hensley; and his sister, Gerleane Shaver.

Connie’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His kindness, laughter, and love for his family will never be forgotten. Whenever a fishing line is cast into a quiet river or a peaceful morning is spent on the water, may those who loved him think of Connie, smile at the memories he gave them, and find comfort knowing that his spirit lives on in the places he loved most. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
