Judy Lynn Alford, 51, of Ruckersville, VA, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025, at University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA. She was born on November 27, 1973, in Greenwood, SC, to Louise Mobley Black and the late Ronnie Black. Judy had a heart as big as the world she dreamed of saving-one cat at a time. Her deep love for animals, especially cats, defined not only her passion but her life's purpose. To Judy, every feline deserved a chance at a happy, healthy life, and she made it her mission to ensure no cat would ever be forgotten, abandoned, or euthanized. With a huge heart and a boundless, loving nature, Judy became a beacon of hope in the animal rescue community. Whether it was fostering, healing, or simply cuddling a scared kitten back to comfort, her compassion left a lasting paw print on every life she touched. Though she's no longer with us, her legacy lives on in every whiskered face that finds a forever home. Judy didn't just love cats, she saved them. And in doing so, she inspired a movement that will continue to change the world, one cat at a time. In addition to her mother, Judy is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 22 years, David Alford; and her siblings, Rita, Pam, and Ron. A Celebration of Life will be announced in the coming weeks. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local animal shelter. An online guestbook is available at www.compassionatecremationva.com Compassionate Cremation Services of Ruckersville, VA is handling the arrangements.
