Joseph Stevens White, 79, of Culpeper, VA, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 16, 1942, in Charlottesville, Virginia to the late Edwin and Lottie White. After 30 years of service, Joe retired as a dispatcher from the Virginia State Police. Upon retirement, he dedicated his time to his beloved farm on Mount Pony, which was his passion. He enjoyed riding his tractor and taking his grandchildren and great grandchildren on gator rides through the pastures. He never met a stranger and his wit, humor, and wild stories, could make anyone laugh. We will all truly miss listening to him sing, playing the piano, and hearing that "Mount Pony Yell". He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jojuan Lawson White; his children, Stephanie Lizzie Johnson (Will) and Joseph Patrick White (Kathy); his sister, Joy Wright (Russell); step children, Justin Barton (Cindy), Jessica Nou (Kong), and Janel Barton; his grandchildren, Kendra Knapp (Kevin), Meaghan Helme (Gavin, Jr.), Heather Rohen, Andrew Harlow (Jacqui), Brandy Jo Harlow, Leo Nou, Luna Barton, and Ruby Nou; great grandchildren, Layla, Kenton, Karson, Briana, Sage, Lyric, Natalie, Landon, Alexis and Blake; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and his beloved Wallers Baptist Church family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Wallers Baptist Church, 4001 Partlow Rd, Partlow, VA 22534, with Pastor Brad Hales and Pastor John Shutlock officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Wallers Baptist Church Cemetery.
