Obituary

Joel Paul Glass, 64, of Barboursville, VA, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, at his residence. He was born on November 11, 1961, in Manatee, FL, to the late Louis Raymond Glass and Pauline Cecil Glass.

Joel was a devoted family man who treasured the time he spent with those he loved most. He enjoyed a good day on the golf course, relaxing by the water with a fishing pole in hand, and watching movies of just about any genre. Naturally curious and always interested in how things worked, Joel also loved tinkering with electronics. Whether enjoying one of his favorite hobbies or simply spending time with family, Joel found happiness in life’s simple pleasures and the people who meant the most to him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Kay Glass; his children, Richard (Jessica) Eppelsheimer, Alyson (Robbie) Fox, and Michael (Ashley) Glass; his sister, Ruth Singer; and his grandchildren, Ethan, Isaac, Aden, and Analise Eppelsheimer, Dakota Goddin, Destiny Crider, Jacob Clevenger, and Alyssa Clevenger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol and Joyce; and his granddaughter, Adeline Eppelsheimer.

A service to celebrate and remember Joel’s life will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Blue Ridge Presbyterian Church, 6566 Spring Hill Rd, Ruckersville, VA 22968, with Rev. Dr. Walter Canter officiating.
