Jeannette Violette Sanford, 77, of Lynchburg, Virginia, passed away on April 8, 2026. Born on February 15, 1949, in Bethesda, Maryland, she lived a life centered on love, family, and devotion.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Jeannette shared 59 years of marriage with her husband, Robert Sanford, and was known for her kind heart and love of reading.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Sanford; daughter, JoAnn Sanford (Rick Weigand); son, Jeffrey Sanford (Cherie); brother, Mark Violette; grandchildren, Brittany Watson (Zachary), Megan Desmond, Patrick Desmond Jr., Cierra Campbell, Skylar Sanford, and Sophia Sanford; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ada and Howard Violette; siblings, Paul, Ronald, and Rosemarie Violette; and her beloved Boston Terriers, Spunky, Sassy, and Brody. Jeannette will be remembered for her warmth, compassion, and the love she shared with all who knew her.
