James Donald Vaughan, 65, born August 18, 1956 to the late James H Vaughan and Izola S Vaughan died, May 13, 2022, at the Hospice House in Charlottesville, Virginia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jacob Tate Vaughan; a sister, Peggy Vaughan Roberts and her husband Charles Edward Roberts; an uncle, Jimmy Pace; and a special nephew, James Pace. He is survived by his granddaughter, Persephone Elisabeth Vaughan and her mother, Alex Kiesler. He is also survived by his siblings, Sherron V Pace, Patricia V Hudson (Chris), David Vaughan (Susan), Donna V Marshall (Lonnie); nephews, Ben Pace, Carl Wood, Bryan Wood, Robert Roberts, Paul Vaughan, Luke Marshall, Sam Marshall; niece, Jennifer Benson; and many great-nieces and nephews. Don graduated from Charlottesville High School in 1975 and later graduated from Piedmont Virginia Community College. In 1988 he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree with High Distinction from the University of Virginia. Don was a lifelong member of Seay's Chapel United Methodist Church in Shores, Virginia. He was also a member of the Fork Union Masonic Lodge #127, A.F.&A.M. He was a longtime manger at Burger King in Charlottesville. Don was a talented artist, musician and writer. He shared these talents with family and friends through the years. The family would like to thank the Hospice of the Piedmont for their compassionate care at the end of Don's life.
