James Byrd Thompson, affectionately known as Jimmy, aged 81, passed away peacefully at his home near Fork Union, on May 16, 2024. Jimmy was born January 29, 1943, in Arlington, VA, to the late Elzie Ray and David Hamill Thompson, Sr. He lived most of his life in Annandale, VA, working for Glebe Market, after having served in the US Navy. He was an avid trout fisherman and had an immense love for animals and wildlife. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother, David Jr. He is survived by his niece, Hannah Brown, and her husband Aaron, who cared for him the past five years; as well as great-nephews and great-nieces; Avery, Aidan, Adelea, Araiya, Ainsley, and Aliza.
