Henry Odell Sargent of Barboursville, Virginia passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025, at the age of 87. Born April 9, 1938, in English, West Virginia, he was the son of the late John Henry and Albie Marie Sargent. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Loretta Smolinski and a brother, Everett Sargent. Odell's life was marked by dedication to his family, his faith, and his work. He attended Concord college before embarking on a long career in the plastics industry. He worked at Reynolds Metals for 20 years before continuing his journey at Klockner Pentaplast for another 21 years until his retirement. He was a member of North Myrtle Beach Baptist Church until relocating back to Virginia in 2022. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Catherine Sargent; daughter, Laura Goodwyn (Patrick); son, Mark Sargent (Cindy); and daughter, Jane Dilla (John Gugel). His grandchildren, Brandon Amos, Ryan Amos (Amber), Danielle Sargent (Bruce Martin), Kristen Pierce (Colin), Austin Goodwyn, Kourtney Gugel (Shane Lauro), as well as bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren. Odell leaves behind a legacy of hard work, steadfast love for family and faith. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
