Harold Stanley Conley Jr., 53, of Stanardsville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Greene Acres Rehabilitation and Nursing Home. He was born on December 7, 1971, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, to Arline and Harold Conley Sr. Harold will be remembered as a simple, easy-going man with a kind heart and a gift for friendship. Harold shared a close friendship with Pastor Greg Payne, who visited him often and later baptized him. He was also a devoted car racing enthusiast; he loved both NASCAR and Eastside Racing. In addition to his parents, Harold is survived by his sister, Tammie K. Paz-Conley; his nephew, Ethan Paz-Conley; nieces, Kiera Paz-Conley and Kailey Paz-Conley; his uncle, Lester Conley; aunts, Ruby Simmons, Juanita Sprouse, and Margie Howdyshell; and a special cousin, Margie Roach. He also leaves behind numerous extended family members and many dear friends, including Geneva Shifflett, Vernell Thomas, Mike Shifflett, Gene Lawson, Tessie Conley, Jonathan Shifflett, Jake Frank, and Edward "Blu" Dean. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Kristen Nicole Conley. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff of Greene Acres Rehabilitation and Nursing Home for the compassionate care shown to Harold in his final days. They wish to especially thank nurses Eula Collins, Johanna Jackson, Sarah Rokicka, Tabitha Cole, Amanda Vogt, and Charlene Walker; and CNAs Rebecca Houchens, Vickie Mathes, Angel Johnson, Brianna Gibson, Thaila Maldonado Rojas, Stephanie Shifflett, Stephanie Held, and Kenzie Raines. A private family service will be held at a later date, and Harold will be laid to rest beside his daughter at High Top Cemetery.
