Giovanna "Jeanine" Depret-Guillaume, 80, of Charlottesville, VA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, July 20, 2024. She was born on April 16, 1944, in Tuglie, Italy, to the late Colturo Michele Falco and Assunta Maria Fersini Falco. As a girl, she moved with her family from Italy to Ransart, Belgium, where she grew up and later married her loving husband, Serge. They immigrated to America and settled in Charlottesville, Virginia. Jeanine loved to be outdoors working in the garden, but her greatest pleasure was spending time with her wonderful family and friends. She hosted epic holiday gatherings, lovingly recorded by her on VHS. Jeanine also worked outside the home for many years at Stromberg Carlson, later Comdial, and assisted her husband with his business, Belgium Precision Works. Jeanine and her husband enjoyed being members of a small, tight-knit group of Belgian immigrants. She leaves her husband, Serge Depret-Guillaume; her children, Serge Eric, Patrick and Corinne; her brothers, Salvatore and François Falco; nephews Thierry, Michael, and Lucas; and her grandchildren, Alex, Maggie, Patrick J., Amanda, James, Sophie, Julia, and Elanor, and two great-grandchildren, Caroline and Joanna.
