Geraldine Lee Merritt, affectionately known as Gerry, 77 years of age, passed away on Thursday, January 9th, 2025, at the Hospice of the Piedmont Residential Hospice House in Charlottesville, Virgina. She was born on August 3rd, 1947, in Sacramento, California to the late Adam and Althea Kuntz. Gerry and lived in several states throughout her life, including Utah and Idaho, before making her home in Virginia in 2004. After graduating from high school, she worked in various retail jobs and as a Certified Nursing Assistant, where she demonstrated her commitment to helping others. Her kind and patient nature left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Gerry loved animals and spent many happy years living on a ranch in Idaho, where she cared for a variety of animals and found peace in the beauty of nature. She also had a passion for reading and spent much of her time researching religious texts, deepening her understanding of her faith and spiritual journey. A true believer, Gerry dedicated her life to living out her faith and helping others in any way she could. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering belief in the power of love and prayer touched the lives of all who knew her. Whether volunteering, lending a helping hand, or simply offering a listening ear, she was always a source of light to those around her. Her deep faith guided her every action, and she found joy in serving others and sharing the love of Christ. Gerry's legacy of love, kindness, faith, and her deep connection to both people and animals will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
