Obituary

Gerald Albert Bruchler, 87, of Schuyler, VA and formerly of Ukiah, CA, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 9, 2023, at his residence. He was born on August 3, 1936, in Hollywood, CA to the late John and Esta Bruchler. Gary had an amazing life and touched so many hearts. He taught little league, was a fireman, Deacon of his church, truck driver, and so much more. Some people know him as the pancake man and others as the donut man. He taught little old ladies to drive. He went on field trips with his daughter and would bring in abalone to cook for her class. He was a son, brother, husband, dad, grandpa, and great grandpa. Remember him fondly and know he had a good long life. He is survived by his daughter, Carole Ann Johnson (Kurt D. Johnson); his sisters, Patsy Charlton, and Dorie Seaheutter; his grandson, Justin Nelson; and his great grandchildren, Layla, Savanna, and Tucker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Bruchler; and his sister, Maureen Kamph. A Celebration of Life will be held in January (time, date, and location to be determined) in Ukiah, CA.
