Frank Wayne Bingler, 73, of Troy, Virginia, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, June 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on March 3, 1953, in Charlottesville, Virginia.
A lifelong resident of the Charlottesville area, Wayne grew up on King Street and remained proud of the community he called home throughout his life. He spent many years working in the maintenance department at Martha Jefferson Hospital. Wayne truly loved his work and the many friendships he formed there. He cherished his co-workers, who became like family, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Wayne had a zest for life and never met a stranger. He loved golfing and watching all kinds of sports, and he was happiest when spending time with family and friends. Whether he was playing pool, throwing horseshoes, playing darts, or trying his luck with the lottery, Wayne was always the life of the party and brought joy wherever he went. He especially enjoyed spending time at Dirty Nelly's, his favorite watering hole, where he made countless friends and memories.
Wayne is survived by his son, Eric Bingler and his wife, Sydney; his daughter, Kara Bingler and her husband, Culley; his beloved grandson, Maverick McWilliams; his brothers, Fulton Bingler and his wife, Pat, and Luther Bingler; as well as many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and other loved ones who welcomed him home.
Wayne's family will remember him for his infectious smile, his generous spirit, and his ability to make everyone around him laugh. He never missed an opportunity to enjoy life, and his presence brought warmth and happiness to all who knew him.
Services for Wayne are still pending.
