Frances Lee Cox, 85, of Culpeper, VA, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at UVA Culpeper Medical Center. She was born on March 15, 1941, in Lynchburg, VA, to the late Fallie Archie Clardy.
Frances was a devoted member of Orange Methodist Church and held a special place in her heart for her church family. She also enjoyed attending Blue Run Baptist Church, where she found joy in worship, fellowship, and the friendships she made along the way.
With a caring heart and a willingness to serve others, Frances was an active member of the Orange County Rescue Squad Women's Auxiliary. For many years, she also volunteered at Dogwood Village Assisted Living, where she brought smiles and laughter to residents during bingo nights. A stranger to no one, Frances had a generous heart and was always willing to help others in need.
She had a love for traveling, staying busy, and being on the go. She enjoyed life's adventures, but above all, she treasured the time spent with her family and the many dear friends she made throughout her life. She was especially grateful for the love, kindness, and unwavering support of the wonderful friends who stood by her through the years.
Frances will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to family and faith, and the many lives she touched through her friendship and service to others. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love and memories she leaves behind will forever be cherished.
She is survived by her children, Richard Cox, Jr. (Lynn), Robin Clatterbuck (Mike), and Roxane Barnes (Benny); her grandchildren, Austin Tussing, Dakota Cox Hampton, and Chanceler Barnes; and one great grandson, Liam Hampton.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Cox, Sr. and her sister, Audrey Dunn.
