IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ferraba Denise
Brown
August 2, 1967 – February 13, 2026
Ferraba Denise Brown, 58, of Elkton, VA, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026. She was born on August 2, 1967, in Staunton, VA, to the late, George and Nancey Shover.
Ferraba was a lifelong member of her community, attending Beverley Manor Elementary School and Riverheads High School. She spent most of her life at her beloved home on Bradley Lane, where countless memories were made with family and friends.
For 25 dedicated years, Ferraba worked as a sandwich maker at Wendy's, where she was known for her strong work ethic and friendly spirit.
She later made her home in Stuarts Draft with her nephew and niece, Jimmy and Deana Brown, when her health began to decline. In her final days, she lived in Elkton with Tonya (and Aaron) Sheffield, the mother of her four cherished grandsons and her beloved grandbabies, Zack, Logan, Trenton, and Treavor.
Ferraba found her greatest joy in spending time with her family. She loved hosting cookouts, gathering everyone together to share laughter and good food. She treasured her first and only trip to the beach, a memory she carried with her always. She also enjoyed collecting whatnots and photographs, holding close the keepsakes that told the story of her life.
Above all, Ferraba deeply loved her four grandsons and treasured every moment she could spend with them. Her love for her family was the heart of her life and will remain her lasting legacy.
She is survived by her son, Donald Ray Brown, Jr.; her sister, Miriam Brown; her brother, John Shover; her grandsons, Zackery Tyler Brown, Logan Nathaniel Brown, Trenton Ray Brown, and Treavor Lee Brown; her nephew, Jimmy Maynard Brown, Jr.; her nieces, Elizabeth Brown and Deana Marie Brown; and her great nieces and nephews, Virginia Powell, Peyton Peters, Jacob Brown, Cheyaen Fitzgerald, and Jeremy Brown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Brown, Sr., and her brother-in-law, Jimmy Maynard Brown, Sr.
A service to honor her life will be announced at a later date.
