Edwina Louise Herndon, 60, of Gordonsville, VA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the Piedmont Center for Acute Hospice Care in Charlottesville, VA. She was born on August 20, 1964, in Louisa, VA, to the late John and Louise Hansen Herndon. Edwina was a woman of remarkable creativity and resilience, known for her many talents and her endlessly giving spirit. Whether it was through crafting, diamond art, or finding new ways to express herself, Edwina had a natural gift for turning the simplest things into something beautiful. Her hands were always busy, but her heart was even more full-despite having little, she gave to those around her. Though life presented her with many challenges, including the loss of her voice due to a tracheotomy tube, Edwina never let that silence her spirit. Instead, she found her voice again in a new way-through her community on TikTok. With courage and creativity, she connected with thousands, inspiring them with her honesty, humor, and heartfelt messages. Above all, Edwina treasured the time she spent with her family and friends. Her warmth, laughter, and presence lit up every room she entered. Her legacy is one of strength, kindness, and the unshakable power of human connection. She is survived by her son, Caleb Gibson; her sisters, Christine Sharpe and Andrea Herndon; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and her faithful dog, Benny. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Belinda Rush and GW Sharpe, Jr. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 203 Ellisville Dr, Louisa, VA 23093, from 2pm-4pm, In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, Charlottesville, VA, SPCA of Charlottesville, or your local Rescue Organization, in memory of Edwina Herndon.
