Diana Sue (East) Worrell of Lehigh Acres, FL; formally of Mineral and Roanoke, VA passed away Monday October 16, 2023, after a battle with cancer at the Hospice of the Piedmont Center for Acute Hospital Care, in Charlottesville, Virginia. Diana was born September 11, 1952, in Bluefield, West Virginia. She was proceeded in death by her parents; Edra Richard East and Bessie Catherine (Austin) East of Windmill Gap (McComas), West Virginia. Diana graduated from Montcalm High School in 1970. Diana worked at Blue Ridge Public Television for years before watching her granddaughter, Kaylee who held a special place in her heart, then later retiring to Florida. Diana's passion was music. She mastered the piano, guitar, accordion, and autoharp. She had a beautiful angelic singing voice and enjoyed singing and playing music. Diana loved visiting with family & friends, attending church at New Image Ministries, having lunch with her friends, watching movies, eating Maryland Blue crabs and making jewelry for her business Diana's Shells. Diana's personality lit up the room when she walked in, she was full of love, laughter, and always had life stories to share. Diana loved planning events, sharing silly videos, and would tell you like it was. She was a one-of-a-kind Mother, Sister, Aunt, Granny, and Friend! Diana is survived by her sons; Travis Worrell of Mineral, VA, Ronnie Holloway II (LeeAnn) of Roanoke, VA. Grandchildren; Kaylee Holloway, Dylan Holloway, Christina (Tyler) Miller and Dana Cromer. Great grandchildren; Oaklyn and Mayven. Sister; Connie (East) Darago (George) of Huntingtown, MD, Special Niece; Misty (Darago) Behnke (Carl) of Daytona Beach, FL. Special Nephews; Richard (Cynthia) Darago of Tullahoma, TN, William (Sharie) Darago of Paw Paw, WV; Special Friends, Joe Bryant, Kristin, Tric, Helen, and her Pastor Michael, numerous friends and extended family in VA, WV, and FL. Fly High Diana, we are sure you've joined "The Angel Band" and are "Singing in the Sunshine." You tell me time has done changed me; That's fine, I've had a good run; I know I used to be crazy; That's 'caus? I used to be young.
