Deloris Ann Cannon, 83, of Barboursville, Va, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital, in Charlottesville, Va. She was born on July 20, 1940, in Washington D.C. to the late William and Virginia Corder. Deloris was an avid reader, enjoyed puzzling, crocheting, knitting, cross-stitch, and needlepoint. She believed in keeping her mind alert & sharp with cross word puzzles, Sodoku, & word search books. She worked for New York Life Insurance company from the age of 20 until her retirement in 2002. Even after a debilitating accident she continued to enjoy life & traveling with her beloved husband "Sonny". He predeceased her on January 15, 2022. In addition to her husband, Burrell Frank "Sonny' Cannon, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth and Calvin Corder; and sister, Carol Caples. She is survived by her sister, Bernice Weissburg; four nephews; five nieces; and many friends. Services for Deloris will be private.
