David Samuel Segan, 80, of Waynesboro, VA, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Augusta Health. He was born on July 31, 1941, in Madison, IL to the late Samuel and Evelyn Segan. Mr. Segan graduated from Miracle Valley High School in Miracle Valley, Arizona. After graduation he served our country in the United States Army for 4 years, spending 2 of those years in Stuttgart, Germany. He was a member of Waynesboro Church of God, spent time traveling with evangelist, A.A. Allen, and was the owner and operator of Vacuum World in Waynesboro, VA for over 30 years. He is survived by his daughters, Shelly Segan, Robin Wharton (Johnny), and Darla Rakes (Mike); grandchildren, Whitney Gormes, John Allen Wharton, Jr., and Brayden Rakes (Heather); great grandchildren, Blake and Beau; sister, Cheris Segan Davis; and step children, Vicki Ann Spencer, Mitzie Lee Miller, and Charles Patrick Smallwood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shelby Snow Segan; his sons, David Segan Taylor and Darren Segan; and granddaughter, Whitney Rakes. Services for Mr. Segan will be held at a later date.
