Clinton Miles Banks, 59, of Madison, VA, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born on September 22, 1966, in Albemarle County, to the late William Briscoe Hill and Odessa Mae Fuller.

Clinton spent his entire life in Madison County, where he was well known and respected by many in the community. He attended Madison County schools and later became self-employed, working for numerous people throughout the surrounding counties. Clinton also worked through ServiceMaster Cleaning, helping maintain several office buildings. He was a hardworking man who was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who asked. Through the jobs he took on, he not only helped those he worked for, but also helped others who worked alongside him earn money as well.

Outside of work, Clinton enjoyed the easy pleasures of life. He loved fishing, eating crabs, cheering for his beloved Washington Commanders, cooking on the grill, and spending time with family. His greatest joy was being with his children and grandchildren, who meant the world to him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Mae Banks of Madison; three sons, Anthony Jasper (Dana), Jonathan Jasper (Alexis), and Jordan Jasper (Katlin) all of Madison; three daughters, Tracey Shifflett of Charlottesville, Latasha Shifflett of Charlottesville, and Davanna Truitt (Dylan) of Locust Grove; one brother, Timothy Banks (Doreen) of Charlottesville; four sisters, Teresa Banks of Madison, Mattie Payne of Madison, Janet Frye (William) of Ruckersville, and Karen Marriner (David) of South Hill; one aunt, Annabelle Hill of Barboursville; 18 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, numerous cousins, step siblings, extended family and friends.

A service to honor Clinton’s life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, 1165 Mud Rd. Madison, VA 22727, with Rev. Frank Lewis, Sr. officiating.

Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church / Gordon-Beasley Cemetery.
