Christopher Michael Lasagna, 63, of Crozet, VA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at his home at Innisfree Village. He was born on November 22, 1961, in Baltimore, MD to the late Louis and Helen Lasagna. Chris lived a full and joyful life in Crozet at Innisfree Village, a life-sharing community for adults with intellectual disabilities, where he made his home since the late 1990s. A man with Down's Syndrome, Chris's early years were spent in a variety of special education settings, both public and private, as his family lovingly sought the best opportunities for him to learn and grow. Music was Chris's greatest passion. He had an ear for rhythm, a love of a strong beat, and a natural gift for conducting. Whether leading hymn singing at Sojourners, where he attended faithfully with his sister Kristy and her family, or accompanying with his drums, Chris brought joy and energy to every gathering. Beyond music, Chris enjoyed attending theater productions and sporting events, where he was always an enthusiastic participant and observer. His presence lifted the spirits of those around him, and his genuine love for life was evident in everything he did. Chris will be remembered for his warmth, his steady beat, and the joy he shared with all who knew him. He is survived by his siblings, Nina (Jim), David, Mosie (Bob), Krissy (Dom), Lisa (Rob), and Peter (Holly); his nieces and nephews, Molly, Joe, Maggie, Emma, Kari, Alison, Rizzo, Carmen, Erin, and Shamus; and great nephews, Dominic and Luigi. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 5, 2025, at 3 pm at Innisfree Village, 5505 Walnut Level Rd., Crozet, VA 22932.
