Charles Wesley McNeil, 61, of Crozet, VA, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Hospice of the Piedmont Center for Acute Hospice Care. He was born on January 24, 1963, in Albemarle County, VA to the late John McNeil & Helen Carter, and raised by his late foster parents, Gordon and Maggie Garrison. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farm work, apple butter making, & family gatherings. Charles is survived by his children, Coty McNeil (wife, Claudia McNeil), Josh McNeil, Melissa Moller (husband, Bryan Moller), and Marlana McNeil; grandchildren, Gregory Halstead, Michaela Halstead, Casey Meadows, Cameron McNeil, Elijah Deane, Isiah Deane, Madison Deane, Kingston McNeil, Lettie Garrison, Nea Garrison, and Trey Garrison; great grandchild, Briella Halstead; nieces and nephews, Roy McNeil (wife, Jessica McNeil), Ashley McNeil-Via (husband, Michael Via), Heather Franklin- McNeil (husband, Brandon Franklin); longtime companion, Myrtle, Garrison; and special friends / family, Tammy Shifflett, Racheal Shifflett, Amy Shifflett-Harlow and family; and Tony McNeil. In addition to his parents and foster parents, he was preceded in death by his, brothers, Roy McNeil and Quinter Garrison, and his sister, Terry Garrison. Charlie will be buried at Rockgate Cemetery with services to be announced in the coming weeks.
