Carolyn Renee Cooper, 71, of Culpeper, Virginia passed away on Monday, December 4th, 2023, at Culpeper Health and Rehab Center. She was born on October 2nd, 1952, to the late Floyd and Bernice Henderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Samuel Rawls (Uncle Tim), Earl Rawls, Elwood Rawls, and Ruth Apperson. In her early years, Carol discovered her faith at Salem Baptist Church in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, singing in the choir. After graduating from Jenkintown High School in 1970, she embarked on a journey overseas with her husband, Carey Cooper during his military service. Returning to the East Coast in 1983, Carol dedicated herself to raising a family, settling in Culpeper, Virginia in 1985. For over a decade, she balanced a role at Culpeper Memorial Hospital with bartending at Jimmy's Lounge on the weekends. Later, she briefly served at a law firm in Northern Virginia as a coder before choosing to play a pivotal role in raising her grandchildren. Carol embraced life with a passion for racing cars, horseback riding, dancing, fashion, animals, reading magazines, and getting her hair done. Her love for conversation and hospitality extended beyond family, opening her door to all her children's friends. She is survived by her children, Chico Cooper, Travis and wife Heather Cooper, and Christina Cooper; her grandchildren, Trevon Cooper, Travis Cooper, LaToya Cooper, Ace Cooper, and Lola Cooper; her grand-pup Fonzworth; her stepmother, Margaret Henderson; her stepsiblings, Christine Pfiffer, Larry Pfiffer, Gwen Lively (Wawa), and Lesley Patterson and husband Gary Patterson; and her honorary sons, John Scott, Hugh Lane, Dwayne Green, and Justin Barton. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Black Oak Baptist Church, 10532 Eggbornsville Rd. Rixeyville, VA 22737.
