Cabot Andrew Birch

Cabot Andrew Birch lost his battle to lung cancer and gained his Heavenly Wings on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, with his loving wife, Sharon and his beloved Husky, Sundance by his side.

Cabot was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley E. Birch and his dad, Milton Ralph Birch.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Gentry Birch; his son, Brandon Birch; and his brother, Ralph Birch. Cabot also had his bonus family, Kevin Powell, Jared and Tiffany Powell, and grandchildren, Josh Canipe, Tyler Powell, Ethan Powell, and the apples of his eye, Cheyanne Roach and Whitley Powell. Cabot also had a long time, loyal friend and fishing buddy, Ricky Roland. 

Cabot had a lifelong love of music and was a self-taught guitarist who played with several local bands over the years. He was an avid fisherman and had a passion for fast, classic cars. He spent more than 42 years working in automotive body shops, where his skill and love for automobiles became an important part of his life. A Celebration of Cabot’s Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on August 9, 2026, at Mount View Baptist Church 908 Saint Clair Ave. Charlottesville, Virginia 22901. A time of food and fellowship will follow the service.
