Becky Lou Mawyer, 59, of Charlottesville, VA, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, March 10, 2025. She was born on July 25, 1965, in Charlottesville, to her loving mother, Betty Morris, and the late Tommy Hicks. Becky was known for her kind heart, fun-loving spirit, and creative touch. She enjoyed shopping trips, always finding something special for herself or a loved one, and had a passion for arts and crafts, often bringing her creative ideas to life in beautiful and heartfelt projects. Becky found happiness in the simple moments - whether it was spending time with her family, listening to music, dancing, laughing with her friends, or simply enjoying the little joys of life. Becky had a deep love for her family and cherished every moment spent with them. She was a devoted mother to her children, Shawn Poole, Louann Poole, and Daniel Weakley, and a proud grandmother to her precious grandson, Chad Poole, who brought endless joy to her life. For the past 25 years, she shared a beautiful companionship with her partner, David Weakley, creating a life filled with love and memories. Additional survivors include her siblings, Louis Coleman and Rebecca Mouberry; her best friend, Shelby Gibson, who remained by her side through thick and thin; Bobby and Alice Foley, who were like her second parents; her aunts, Marie Hart, and Aunt Ginny; and her uncle, Johnny. Becky's warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her, and she will be remembered for the love she gave so freely. Although her time here was far too short, Becky's love and memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace, knowing she was deeply cherished and will never be forgotten. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Viola Brookman, and Lottie Morris; and her aunt, Nancy Bell.
