Obituary

Barbara Ann Vanover, 72, of Gordonsville, Virginia, passed away on June 5, 2026.

Barbara was born on June 28, 1953, in Charlottesville, Virginia, and grew up in Gordonsville. She loved gardening, playing the bass, and spending time with her family. She was loved and cherished by many. A devoted Christian woman, Barbara spent her life caring for those she loved and serving as a source of strength, kindness, and compassion to family and friends.

She was preceded in death by husband, Clyde Wanda Vanover; a special nephew, Cecil F Lam; parents, William F. Lam Sr. and Clara Mae Lam; and siblings, Bonnie S. Johnson, William F. Lam Jr., Janet R. Shelton and husband, Pete, Audrey F. Lettner and husband, Eddie, Roger L. Lam, and Cecil R Lam.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Audrey-Ann V. Lamb and her husband, Russell; Janet L. Vanover; Ann Brackett; son-in-law, James M. North; and Gladys M. McAllister and her husband, Sonny. She is also survived by her niece, Angela N. Lam, and her nephew, Travis L. Lam, along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Barbara will be forever loved, missed, and cherished by all who knew her. While her family mourns her passing, they find comfort in knowing that she has gone home to be with the Lord and the loved ones who welcomed her into eternal peace.
