Anthony Jerome Green entered into peaceful rest on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at the UVA Hospital surrounded by his family. Anthony was born September 3, 1954, to the late Alice T. (Missy) Green-Johnson and Ernest J. Burton. He was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church, Faber, Va.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Timothy Johnson, Charles Johnson, Alfred "Cubby" Walker, Lawrence Waytes, and Gregory Childress and his stepfather, Charles "Pete" Johnson. 

Anthony graduated from Nelson County High School. He worked at UVA Food Service after graduation and then Sperry Marine for over 15yrs. 

He leaves to cherish his memory: life time partner of 49 years, Violet Baker; his children, Tonya Baker, Troy Baker (Shareka), and Rodney Jerome Baker; grandchildren, Derek Baker, Xavier Bishop, Ayquasia Baker, Jayvion Baker, Damonte Baker, and Zynique Pitts; great-grandson, Carter Yates; brothers, Floyd Greene, David Johnson, Dennis Childress, and Jerome Saylor; sisters, Alice "Vern" Vest (James), Sharon Vest (John), Diane Saylor, and Dorothy "CC" Whindleton; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 12 Noon at Mt. Airy Baptist Church, 866 Old Roberts Mountain Road, Faber VA 22938.
