Obituary

Amber Kristina Roberts, 32, of Charlottesville, VA passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital. She was born on July 3, 1993, to Joyce Ann Roberts. Amber was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Carolyn J. Roberts, Claude B. Roberts, and Step-grandmother, Florence Roberts; great-grandmother, Ruby L. Tyree; and two aunts, Becky S. Roberts and Joan D. Tyree. Amber lived her life with a heart full of wonder and a spirit deeply connected to the world around her. She found beauty in nature's quiet details, from the glimmer of the stars above to the unique shapes and colors of the rocks she loved to collect. The ocean was one of her happiest places, where she could breathe deeply, feel the sand beneath her feet, and listen to the rhythm of the waves. Creative at heart, Amber expressed herself through drawing and music, often blending her love of fantasy into her art. She was captivated by the magic of the moon, the mystery of the stars, and the majesty of imagined creatures. Animals held a special place in her heart, and her kindness toward them reflected the compassion she carried in every part of her life. Her spirit animal was the Elephant, never forgetting those most important to her heart. To those who knew her, Amber was a soul of light and creativity, whose passions brought joy, wonder, and love into the lives of everyone she touched. In addition to her mother Joyce Roberts, she is survived by her only sister, Ashley J. Roberts; only nephew, Benjamin A. Maupin; a great aunt, Brenda M. Beverly; great-great aunt, Audrey A. Wyland-Pugh; special cousins, Jaylen Roberts, Stephanie Gentry, Kieonna, Jasmine, Danielle, and Dominique Fleming, and a host of extended loving cousins, aunts, and uncles to include the Roberts side; special longtime friends, Heather Burton and Nitin, Anthony Hunt, and Shayne Michael. Amber's legacy will live on as she was an organ donor saving multiple lives. A service to honor Amber's life will be announced at a later date. We would like to thank Martha Jefferson Hospital nurses, doctors, and staff for their love and support in addition to their excellent around the clock care.
