Alfonza Bennett Scott, 74, of Louisa, VA, departed this life Sunday, July 13, 2025. He was born October 2, 1950, in Louisa, VA, to the late James B. and Lettie Parrish Scott. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his five sisters, Ann, Teresa, Delaphine, Rosa, and Linda; and one brother, Oscar. Alfonza, an extremely hard-working man in the Logging and Mechanic professions, was self-employed for many years until retirement. Alfonza was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes, and spades with family and friends. He loved sports and was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR. His love for mechanics and racing showed out on the racetrack alongside his brother, Gilbert. He also had a love for animals, including his late rooster, Foghorn Leghorn. He attended the Louisa County Public School System. He was a member of and attended Galilee Baptist Church. Alfonza's memory will forever be cherished by his loving wife of 52 years, Susie Holland Scott; and two devoted daughters, Teresa Scott and Charmeka Coombs (husband Jonathan); his 5 caring grandchildren, Shauna Butler (husband Ernie), Trae Stewart, Tiara Shelton, Kendyl Evatt, and Landi Stewart; one adored great-grandson, EJ Butler; and 7 adorable fur grandchildren, Audi, Bobby, Zoey, Kobe, Remi, Ellie, and Boseman. He is also survived by his brothers, James Scott, Gilbert Scott (wife Barbara), and Millard Scott (wife Isabel). Alfonza leaves behind a host of family and friends who will miss him dearly. A Memorial Service to celebrate Alfonza's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Galilee Baptist Church, 3598 Three Notch Rd., Kents Store, VA 23084, with Associate Minister Annie Holland officiating.
