Nathaniel David Corbin

Nathaniel "Nate" David Corbin, 37, of North Carolina, formerly of Rappahannock County, VA, passed away on December 4, 2022. He was born on October 16, 1985, to Don and Diana Corbin. Not many people are lucky enough to call Rappahannock home. Nate was. Crafted by a special community. Guided by the land. Nate was born a mild-mannered country boy, but he had a fire in his eye. He knew the importance of being idle, but he was just better at being the spark. A spark that fueled endless friendships and brought joy to all those he met. Truly wild. Truly free. Nate understood the connection to the trees. How the deer followed the rivers and the importance of laying on haybales. Where to look for constellations as the pink sky faded. The importance of the man that gathered the grass and connection that bound the two. He knew the right time to hunt a squirrel, how to make the gravy and the importance of where it came from. He worked on cars, built things with wood, and cooked for anyone that would eat. All done with a care and passion you don't see too often. As Nate grew, so did his infectious smile. One that filled the room. Capable of getting him into trouble. But, not as quickly as it got him out of it. Growing into his tall frame wasn't gracious. When Nate finally grew, he became a 6'2" floppy-haired Bambi on ice. Throw in a splash of the Tasmanian Devil tornado and that was Nate running down a soccer field. Soccer never saw such a fun soul. His height and hair were outpaced only by his heart and his ability to wear it on his sleeve. Then Nate found Brittany. The greatest find he ever found. And they made Dylan and Basil. The most beautiful things he ever made. He found his light and found his calm. He found his purpose and he found his place. Thanks for all the years of friendship. The ruckus we caused and all the good you did. Thanks for all the long rides and not saying a word. An understanding without all the nonsense. We hope you and Dylan are getting the band back together. You two are bombing hills on dark snowy nights straight into cattle fences. Fishing the ripples and marinating the prize. Sitting next to the fire and telling plenty of lies. We hope you save us a seat. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Brittany Corbin; his children, Dylan Corbin, and Basil Corbin; his siblings, Zack Corbin (Fiance Tracy Ward), Ashley Armstrong (husband, Scott Armstrong); and Kara Barroso (husband, Kim Barroso); and his nieces and nephews, Kyle Corbin, Ella Corbin, Carson Armstrong, Saylor Armstrong, Kohen Barroso, Kaislynn Barroso, and Kalli Barroso. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Elinor Perez; and his brother, Dylan Matthew Corbin. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 13, 2023, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church, 3748 Sperryville Pike, Sperryville, VA 22740. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Jon Heddleston and Pastor Lewis "Randy" Clark officiating.
